This chakra relates to the element water, it is concerned with the fluidic functions of the body. It is the home of the vital force. It represents sexuality, creativity, and emotional balance. It brings grace, depth of feeling and intuition.

This chakra stimulates optimism and hope on an emotional level. It also relates to our sense of taste. Its energy is influenced by how and whether emotions were expressed or repressed during our childhood.

An under-active sacral chakra can be represented by illnesses such as arthritis. The person will often have negative emotions such as anger, frustration, and resentment. Other characteristics are shy, timid, fearful, guilt, abusive, self loathing and impotent.

With this energy center in balance, it will be easy to relate well to others. Interactions between persons will be smooth and effective. Other characteristics are friendly, sense of humor, intuitive, empathetic and radiate warmth.

Characteristics of an over-active second chakra can be manipulative, aggressive, and overly self-indulgent. They may view others a sex objects. They can also be emotionally explosive and is usually caught up in illusions.

Orange is the color for this chakra. By placing certain stones on the chakra, you can begin to bring it into balance. These stones are coral, amber, carnelian, topaz, citrine, and orange spinel.

Senses can be used to help raise your vibrational frequency and balance this chakra. Since the main sense is taste, try eating foods with a lot of flavor and spice. Enjoy the texture and flavor of each bite. Keep each in your mouth for a minimum 15 seconds and try to take small bites.
